A group of ten sentenced of digital abuse against Brigitte Macron

A French judicial body has convicted ten people for perpetrating the cyber-bullying of Brigitte Macron, the partner of France's leader, Emmanuel Macron.
The accused individuals faced allegations of disseminating fabrications regarding her gender and sexuality, in addition to publishing hurtful comments about the pair's 24-year age gap.
The court issued suspended jail terms of up to eight months to the convicted individuals. The full ruling has yet to be released.
A circulating unfounded claim alleging that Brigitte Macron is a person assigned male at birth has spread widely since her husband's first electoral victory in 2017.
This Monday's court decision in France is concurrent with the Macrons pursuing a legal action for defamation in the United States against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has likewise promoted analogous false narratives about the Brigitte Macron's gender.
Their complaint alleges that Owens disregarded substantial counter-evidence disproving her claim choosing instead to amplify the voices of notorious conspiracy peddlers.
Owens has often echoed these allegations on her podcast and social media channels, and in March 2024 stated that she would stake her entire professional reputation on her conviction that Mrs. Macron was born a man.
Brigitte Macron first met her future husband when she worked as an educator at his lycée.
The pair married in 2007, when the future French president was 29 and she was in her mid-50s.
