Major Russian Attacks Disrupt Electricity In Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while local people in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has intensified attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in supplying air defence systems and implementing penalties," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen missiles attacked energy facilities, describing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.

Local officials said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and several individuals were hurt.

The attacks come after nights of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to identify.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
